SMA Negeri 3 Kupang managed to win the KupangPolitani Director's rotating trophy in the Sylva Cup futsal tournament of the KupangPolitani Forestry Department which was held at the KupangPolitani football field, Thursday (19/09/2022). SMA Negeri 3 Kupang gave their best game and managed to beat MAN Kupang in the final round with a score of 6-3 so that they could bring a permanent trophy, certificate and prize money worth 3.5 million.

The previous match in the semi-finals of SMAK Giovanni won over SMK Adven with a score of 6-2 and won 3rd place by bringing a permanent trophy, certificate and prize money worth 2 million rupiah.

On this occasion, trophies were also awarded to the top scorer and the best player. Joseph FransiscoDanielloNganggus (Ello) from SMAK Giovanni was chosen as the top scorer, while the best player was awarded to Ortega Johan RosalindoPatola (Ortega) from SMAN 3

There are around 47 teams participating in the Sylva Cup 2022 tournament, including: SMA 1 Kupang Barat, SMA 1 AmabiOefeto, SMA 3, SMA 4, SMK 1 Kupang, SMAK Giovanni, SMA Lighthouse, SMA Advent and several SMA/SMK another in Kupang led by the Referee from KPFK (Kupang Futsal Lovers Community)

The Director of the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic Johanis A. Jermias, S.Pt., M.Sc was also present to witness the final match along with the Head of the Forestry Department FabianusRanta, S.Hut., M.Si, the Heads of Study Programs, lecturers, employees and students KupangPolitany.

In his closing remarks, the Director thanked the Department of Forestry for initiating a series of extraordinary activities starting from September 5 to September 19, 2022.

"One of the goals of this activity is to promote the KupangPolitani to the community in NTT, so that in the future high school / vocational / MAN students can be interested and want to join the KupangPolitani." he explained.

The Director also had the opportunity to greet the participants from SMA Negeri 3 and MAN Kupang and gave appreciation to them for having high sportsmanship in the competition.

“You guys are the most sporty participants and supporters I have ever seen.” exclaimed the Director.

At the end of his closing remarks, the Director said that PolitaniKupang would improve the standard of the Sylva Cup futsal tournament implementation to achieve better results.

"We are waiting for the arrival of SMA/SMK/MAN students next year at PolitaniKupang in the 2nd Sylva Cup." exclaimed the Director.

For information, the Sylva Cup tournament was held in the framework of the 5th Anniversary of the Forestry Department on 19 September 2022, the 17th Anniversary of the Forest Resource Management Study Program on 29 August 2022, the 5th Anniversary of the Forest Management Study Program on 29 May 2022. and welcoming the 34th Anniversary of the Kupang State Agricultural Polytechnic on October 6, 2022.

In addition to the Sylva Cup futsal tournament between SMA/SMK throughout NTT, a series of activities were also held starting from September 5 to September 19, 2022 including: exhibitions, launching of the Journal of the Department of Forestry Politani (Nusantara Journal of Forestty), public lectures by the head of the NTT KSDA Center Ir. Arief Mahmud, M.Si regarding the introduction of conservation areas in NTT and the dissemination of the Class XIV 2022 Forest Work and Night Camps (PKMR) activities.

PKMR, which is the core activity of a series of activities held by the Department of Forestry this year, raised the theme of realizing the love of nature conservation in the spirit of the forestry team.

The chairman of the committee, Dr. JerielsMatatula, S.Hut., M.Sc said that there were about 300 participants who took part in the PKMR activities in Bu'atSoe. Activities carried out include: social services in the form of free medical treatment for the community, planting of saplings, planting trees in springs, social services for cleaning garbage in mahogany forests, making “do not litter” signs and making trash bins placed along the road.

Through this activity, according to Jeriels, students learn to discover the various potentials that exist in the forest.
